Hello! Did you miss me?

I was here*:

View from the left. See the truck driving on the beach?

View straight ahead. I was attempting to take a picture of the sailboat, which is that white dot in the middle of the horizon. (It was MUCH closer in person and looking through the lens!!!)

And the view to the right. Normally, there's tons of people walking the beach, but it was FREEZING. It will be 75 degrees tomorrow, naturally, since we're gone.

deja vu

We do a variety of things on Sundays, depending on what needs to be done. Work around the house, laundry, shopping, and a lot of times something more fun.

Typically, Sunday nights are reserved for reading the paper, and we indulge ourselves with a treat -- ice cream.

It's deja vu every time my husband comes home. He puts the ice cream in the freezer and the bag..... well, the empty bag just sits on the island. I guess he sees that as part of the "Sunday ritual" also.

Juvies

There is a new reality show on MTV called "Juvies." Okay, first of all, get past the fact that I know about it. LOL

The reason I bring it up is, I wonder if this show will be as successful as "Scared Straight," a documentary that aired in the '70s and followed a dozen or so teens into a NJ state prison where the inmates tried to scare the juvenile delinquents straight. I was terrified by what I saw and never, ever wanted to be in a predicament like that.

So, I'm wondering if today's teens are going to take a serious look at "Juvies" and take note.

Check this out and get a blast from the past !

I used to be so organized. I mean ridiculously, painfully organized. I used to have everything in its place. I don't know what happened. Actually, I do know. Too many moves. Packing up just to unpack and find a place for everything all over again.

We have been in this house 2 1/2 years and there are still things to be done. Maybe I shouldn't even be admitting this. I should probably be embarrassed.

In my defense (even though I know I don't have to defend myself to my true blogger friends...) this house is quite different from our last house. Different sized and shaped windows, requiring new drapery in most cases. That is all finally taken care of and all windows are properly dressed. hee hee

Now I'm tackling what to do with my pictures/paintings. The wall space is different than my last house as well, so all my wall hangings don't quite fit (either too big or way too small for the wall space). I don't want to have to buy new stuff, so I'm trying to figure out a way for it to work, but it's hard!!

I'm almost there though, and then all of the decorating will finally be done. I hate to think it, but it will probably be done just in time for us to start thinking about moving again ..... just because that is the way my luck runs.

This plaque was given to me by good friends as a housewarming gift back in CT. It is typically the first thing that gets hung in my kitchen. I miss my friends back in CT. What is it about that "first set" of friends you make as a couple? Are the friendships stronger because you're all experiencing the same things at that time in your life?

I don't really know anyone in this neighborhood. They're all really just acquaintances. We keep saying we'll invite everyone to a barbecue during the summer or a winter party between Christmas and New Year's -- the way we did in CT -- but we never do.

Who knows, maybe this summer will be different. Maybe this will be the summer we finally have everyone over. In that case, I think I better get this stuff up on the walls!!!

P.S. I never did find my '07 calendar, so I bought another one. No biggee, it cost $1.00.
