Where did January go?

I want to get one post in before the month is over, not to mention remove the Christmas picture off the blog. LOL

Being absent from my blog doesn't necessarily mean I was busy. Time just got away from me. A couple bullet points to cover the month and what's been on my mind...
  • New Year's Eve I called my parents to wish them a happy new year. My mother told me my uncle was in hospice care and didn't have long to live - throat cancer. That was rough to hear.
  • My manager returned to work after 1 1/2 months medical leave. She had 5 stints put in. Shortly before her return, a coworker in our dept. went out on a 3-month medical leave (foot surgery).
  • The company announced there is a salary freeze, no overtime, and all temps were let go. Can't say I'm surprised, as the economy continues to crumble. I, like everyone else, hopes the company can keep afloat so there are no layoffs or office closings. Sad thing is, if the employees did their job all along instead of letting things slide, we'd be in better shape.
  • My husband has an interview next week. This same individual approached him before about a job, hyped it all up and then, next thing we knew, someone else got it. So, my husband knows to take what this guy says with a grain of salt and not get too excited. But, he also has to go with the flow and see where it leads.
  • Last Saturday I sent a card to my uncle. I wanted him to know how much he meant to me. He died the following day. He will forever be in our hearts.
  • It's cold and damp, however, I see the plants starting to sprout some growth along the back of our house. Daffodils will be up soon and the hummingbirds won't be far behind. My hummingbird feeder will be hung back up tomorrow.

I'm ready for February...
